Hiring managers, take a walk with me.
Posting and praying is not a recruitment strategy. Here is how you get the right candidates to care.
If your only strategy to reach top talent is to post and pray, I have really bad news for you. Even the best candidates, whether passive or active, still need a reason to care.
Posting and praying is not a recruitment strategy. Even the best candidates need a reason to care.
How do you get them to care?
Three things, every time:
- A clear job description. Specific enough that a qualified person can see themselves in it. Vague descriptions read as unserious.
- A clear employer value proposition. What is in it for them beyond salary and benefits? Growth, autonomy, leadership, the actual work itself.
- A human hiring process built on mutual respect. Move quickly, communicate honestly, treat candidates the way you would want to be treated when you were last interviewing.
